Qatar Airways has long been at the forefront of lifting the business class experience. Now it is taking another step by introducing caviar, once the province of first class, to the business lass cabin.
Starting August 15, caviar will be available on 13 routes across the Qatar Airways network. Caviar lovers will be able to experience the service on board flights between Doha and Boston, Dallas, Hong Kong, Houston, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, New York, Paris, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, and Washington.
According to Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Product Development and Design, Ms. Xia Cai:
Qatar Airways takes pride in providing the best premium business class travel experience. The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience. We are committed to continuously enhance our onboard services to elevate the industry’s standards and delight our passengers.
The caviar menu
You will be able to enjoy in two ways. You will be able to have it either as a standalone option, or as part of the onboard meal course. Based on the images provided by the airline it will be served with the usual accompaniments such as smoke salmon, chopped chives and crème fraîche. For the caviar aficionado, it also looks as though it will come with a mother of pearl spoon.
Of course, there is caviar, and there is caviar. As yet, Qatar Airways have not identified the type of caviar that it will be serving.
Booking Qatar Airways Business Class
There are a few options for booking a Qatar Airways Business class seat. You could pay for it by booking directly with Qatar Airways.
Alternatively, there are a few redemption options. Firstly, if you have a Qatar Privilege Club account, you can redeem your points for a seat. Secondly, you can redeem through one of Qatar Airways partners which in Australia includes both Velocity and the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. There are, of course, a number of oneWorld partners you can redeem through.
