Jetstar has anounced that all Jetstar Asia flights arriving and departing from Kuala Lumpur International AirportĀ (KLIA)will be using the KLIA2 as from July 8, 2015. This is a shift from the present practise of utilising the main terminal at KLIA.
KLIA2 is a fairly new terminal built to replace the old Low Cost Carrier terminal in Kuala Lumpur. It is located less than 2 km away from the KLIA Main Terminal. It is accessible from KL Sentral via the KLIA Express and KLIA Transit.
According to Jetstar, there are no other changes – there is no change in the flight schedule, ground handler, check-in facilities or check-in timings. The straight to gate option will continue to be available for eligible passengers.
The main impact is likely to be on passengers that will now have to transfer between the KLIA Main terminal and KLIA2. These passengers will need to clear immigration and collect their checked bags before they can transfer to their next flight.
Passengers booked to travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on and after today (June 2) will receive an updated email itinerary to reflect the location of the new airport.
Use of Plaza Premium Airport lounge
Passengers that are booked on the Max Bundle, will have access to the Plaza Premium Lounge located at KLIA2. This lounge is located on Level 2, International Departure Level, next to Gate L8. Opening hours 0400 – 0000 daily.
Further information on this change is available on a dedicated web page Jetstar has set up for this change.
